Your calculations stay on your device
The entire calculator runs inside your own browser. The car you pick, your income, your loan figures, the rates you edit — all of it is processed on your device and none of it is transmitted to this site or anywhere else. There is no server to receive it, and Google Analytics (below) never sees any of it either. Close the tab and it is gone.
One exception you control: the “Copy link to this car” button builds a web address containing the car's CSD index number, the state and the registration type, so someone else can open the same calculation. Nothing is added to the address bar unless you press it. If you open such a link, that address — like any page address — is visible to Google Analytics. It never contains your pay level, income or any figure you typed.
Google Analytics — what it does and does not see
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages get used, so the tool can be improved from real usage rather than guesswork. It sets cookies and records standard analytics data — which pages you visit, roughly how you arrived, your approximate city-level location (from your IP address), and your device and browser type. It never sees anything you type into the calculator — no car, no income, no loan figure, no charge you edit is ever part of what Analytics collects; that stays entirely separate, per the section above.
You can opt out at any time with Google's own Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking third-party cookies or using a tracker-blocking browser or extension. The calculator works exactly the same either way — it never depended on Analytics to function, and never will.
No advertising, no other trackers
Beyond Google Analytics above, this site carries no advertising network, no social media pixel, and no other third-party script or tracker of any kind.
Two things saved locally: your theme and your pay-level band
If you switch between the light and dark look, that preference is saved in your browser's own local storage so the site remembers it next time. If you pick your rank or pay-level band on the Eligibility tab, the band (for example “Pay Level 6–9” — not your rank or name) is saved the same way, so every car can be marked as within or over your CSD limit on your next visit. Neither ever leaves your device, neither is a cookie, and you can clear the band by setting it back to “Not set”.
What the web host records
Like every website, the hosting server keeps standard access logs — the IP address making a request, the time, the page requested and the browser type. These are generated automatically by the web server, are used only to see roughly how many people are using the tool and to diagnose faults, and are not linked to any individual or shared with anyone.
If you email
If you write in, the author will have your email address and whatever you put in your message. It is used only to reply and to fix what you reported. It is not added to any list, and there is no newsletter.
Children
This is a tool for adults buying a vehicle. It is not directed at children and collects nothing from anyone.
Changes
If this ever changes — for example if the site one day carries advertising or a contact form — this page will be updated to say so plainly before the change takes effect.
